SOMA RECORDS CELEBRATES A GREAT QUARTER OF A CENTURY

In 1992, the British duo Slam launched Soma Quality Recordings. Twenty five years on, the label is now called Soma Records and can claim to have conquered a whole musical generation. Always at the forefront, Slam, accompanied by Dave Clarke and Glenn Gibbons, signed many of the house and techno stars of the last two decades. Rejuvination, Daft Punk in 1994, Percy X, 20:20 Vision, Silicone Soul, Funk D’Void, Richie Hawtin, Master H, Alex Smoke… The label, which has become a guarantee for quality and success, has not lost its touch and continues to make electronic music shine. More recently, Pig & Dan, Deepchord, Electric Rescue, Jack Master and Monoloc have joined Soma Records’ giant roster.

In 2017, the label will celebrate its 25th birthday and it has decided to mark the occasion. On 31 March, a five-vinyl boxset will be released. But this time around, it won’t be a “best of” compilation. There are only unreleased tracks and new remixes on Soma25. Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Adam Beyer, Funk D’Void and even Josh Wink feature on this exclusive release. On the remixes side, Deepchord, Jonas Kopp and Slam have revived tracks by Daft Punk and Joe Stawarz. Thought has been put into stickers, posters, t-shirts and images for the boxsets. To top it all off, the label has taken this opportunity to unveil its own bottle of whiskey, produced in collaboration with The Good Spirits Co. Happy anniversary Soma Records!
